Arriving Early

We arrive at least 45 minutes before the event begins to ensure we have ample time to prepare. This early arrival allows us to familiarize ourselves with the venue and make any necessary adjustments.

Checking the Layout

After greeting the event coordinator, we assess the layout of the performance space. This step is crucial to ensure that we’re set up in the best possible location for both the music and the guests' experience.

Setting Up

Once the layout is confirmed, we get to work. We unpack our chairs, stands, iPads, music sheets, foot pedals, and, of course, our violin and cello. A quick glass of water helps us stay hydrated and focused.

Tuning and Sound Check

Tuning our instruments is essential for delivering the perfect sound. After tuning, we conduct a sound check to ensure everything is just right. This step allows us to make any adjustments needed for the acoustics of the space.

Rehearsing Key Moments

With everything set up, we take time to rehearse the key pieces of music, especially those that are significant for the event. Whether it’s a special announcement or a particular moment during the celebration, we practice to ensure each note resonates perfectly.

Quick Refreshments

Before the event begins, we take a moment to refresh ourselves. This might involve a quick drink of water, a bathroom break, or a snack to keep our energy up.

As the event unfolds, we’re ready to transition seamlessly between different spaces, whether moving from the ceremony to the reception or from one performance area to another.
