They can’t be exposed to:

• rain

• direct sunlight for long periods

• extreme temperatures

• high winds

This is because changes in temperature and moisture can affect both the sound and the structure of the instrument.

So while we love performing outdoors…

We do need a few simple things in place.

🌿 What We Need for Outdoor Performances

To perform outside safely and beautifully, we require:

• Shelter (gazebo, pergola, umbrella, or similar)

• Shade (to protect from direct sunlight)

• Level ground

• Protection from wind

This ensures:

• the instruments stay safe

• the sound remains consistent

• and the performance is at its best

☔ What If It Rains on the Day?

If rain is forecast, your venue will almost always have a contingency plan.

This might include:

• moving the ceremony indoors

• using a covered area

• relocating to a sheltered space (like near French doors)

We’ll work closely with:

• you

• your venue

• and your planner

To ensure everything adapts seamlessly.

The most important thing isn’t whether it rains…

It’s having a plan in place.

We always recommend:

• checking your venue’s outdoor setup options

• confirming shelter availability

• having a clear indoor backup space

Once that’s sorted, there’s nothing to worry about.

It doesn’t take anything away.

In fact, some of the most beautiful moments we’ve performed have been:

• under soft rain

• inside with candlelight

• or in cosy, intimate spaces
