First Dance

Questions Couples Often Ask
How do we check your availability?
Simply get in touch via our contact form and we'll let you know if your date is available.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend enquiring as soon as possible. Many couples book us 12-24 months in advance, although we occasionally have availability at shorter notice.
How do we secure our booking?
A 20% non-refundable deposit secures your date, with the remaining balance due 30 days before your wedding.
Can we choose our own music?
Couples are invited to choose music from our repertoire list, which is updated bi-annually. Whether you choose a few favourites or a complete set, we'll help ensure your music choices match your wedding vision.
Can you perform a song that isn't on your repertoire list?
While we recommend couples choose from the list, we offer bespoke arrangements for music not in our repertoire. Bespoke arrangements cost £100 per piece and allow you to have something truly personal for your wedding.
How much music do we need for our ceremony?
Most ceremonies include 8 pieces for the prelude, 1 for the bridal party entrance, 2 during the signing of the register and 1 for your celebratory exit as newlyweds. We'll guide you through the process and help you choose suitable pieces if needed.
Do you perform outdoors?
We love performing outdoors and bringing live music to outdoor celebrations. However, our instruments are delicate and must be protected from the elements.
Weather & Seasons
We can only perform outdoors in completely dry conditions. Unfortunately, we cannot perform in rain or drizzle, as moisture can cause serious damage to our violin, cello and bows.
October - March Performances
Between October and March, all performances must take place indoors due to colder temperatures and weather conditions.
April – September Performances
For outdoor performances, suitable shade or shelter must be provided to protect our instruments from direct sunlight. This may be a gazebo, pergola, large parasol, or a naturally shaded area. If your venue cannot provide suitable shade, we can arrange a parasol for £30. The parasol is only for protection from sunlight, not from rain.
A Backup Plan
The decision to perform outdoors will always remain at our discretion on the day, based on weather conditions. We kindly ask that all couples have an indoor contingency plan in place, ensuring your music can continue seamlessly whatever the weather.
Do you travel?
Yes. We regularly perform throughout Somerset, Bath & North East Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Devon and the wider South West. We are also able to travel further for Platinum and Diamond package bookings.
What happens if one of you is unwell?
In the unlikely event that one of us is unable to perform, we have a trusted network of professionally trained musicians we can contact to cover us.
Can you provide a larger ensemble?
Yes. If you're looking for a bigger ensemble, we can also provide a string trios, a string quartet, or piano trio upon request.
